Try this stress test on the BBC web site. It will help you to understand the causes and symptoms of stress and you are also participating in a real piece of research!
The BPS produce a monthly summary of research it is easy to read and often quite interesting. Try to log on and get the monthly emails. Go to the main BPS page and look on the left for the link.
Watch sections of the BBC show on addiction on youtube. It is called constant craving. You can get to it through psychexchange:

Look out for information about a TV show which was on last night in France. It was a game show based on Milgram’s research and there has been a lot of debate about it. There was a good discussion about it on Radio 2 today (18/10/2010) at 1.34pm - you can listen on iplayer. Also see a clip of the show on youtube under ‘Spoof game show shocks France’.
Look at some of the research being carried out now at a sleep research unit ( Loughborough University)
Also you can find out a lot more about sleep from the bbc web site - the best bit is the sheep dash game for testing how alert you are!!
The bbc web site has two good pages on testing your memory and ways of improving your memory (go down to the bottom of this page and click on Test your memory or Read memory tips). Check them out and try to use some of the advice when revising for exams.

If you are keen to study psychology or a related subject at university you will need to show that you are interested and keen to expand your knowledge beyond the A level. Here are some things you can do;
Read the research digest each month, or even sign up for the emails so that you can be kept up to date with recent research.
Sign up to become student member of the BPS. This costs a few quid but you get regular magazines, invites to conferences and it shows you are really keen on taking psychology further.
Watch tv programmes and films and read books related to psychology.
Try going to jeff milners site and listen to some songs backwards. First listen without knowing what you are listening for then put up the supposed words. How can you explain what happens?
