6th Jan - Happy New Year….

leastwise, it will be after next week!!!

If you’ve not realised, it’s now 6 DAYS until you take this exam - you can use this blog to ask questions that arise as you’re revising, or to put in special requests for things you want to go over again - just add a comment at the end of this post - I know at leat 2 of you know how to do this…..

28th December….

Hope you’ve all had a great Xmas - now time to get on with some SOLID revision!!!

If you want to start revising in a fairly gentle way, you could try looking at this - didn’t have time to do this before Xmas, not compulsory, but you can use it to evaluate the Robber’s Cave Study (which isn’t available on video as far as I’m aware…)

8th Dec….

Bizarre link of the day (or even the week!!)    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81xVEklkZk4 - nice for social though….

and another thing to bear in mind when you’re Xmas shopping:-  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8402628.stm

3rd December….. (time’s flying!!!!)

In case you haven’t worked it out yet….   It’s just now less than 6 weeks ’til you take this exam - and that includes Xmas!!

So better get on with it!! - MOCK EXAM next week - Monday - take it seriously, you’re supposed to learn by doing it!! - Social - Key Issue and one more study in detail to go…..

27th November

Next week I’m intending to blast the rest of the content for Social Psychology at you, then deal with a ‘key issue’ for Social - I think an ideal example is in the news right now - take a look on the updated ‘Social’ page……

21st Nov…..

missed a week last week having too good a time…..

Am glad to have met your parents on Thurs, but the main message is to YOU - this is YOUR exam, Your results and YOU have got to do it !!!!

So TIME TO GET SERIOUS!!!!    start in earnest NOW - only about 7 weeks to go - both cognitive and social break down into 6 components, so with a week off for Xmas, the maths is not difficult here…..

If you haven’t started learning the definitions yet, do so now - pace it adding a new one every day, and keep reviewing the ones you already know - defintions are great for really thinking about how you learn material - just looking and writing might not be enough - think about the ‘learning styles’ work you did at the begining of term, and you should have useful insights from Cognitive Psychology (otherwise we’re wasting our time!!) - if it’s passed you by, ask us again!!!

“DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME, OR TIME WILL…   WASTE…   YOU”

Yey - you found it!!

Well done - at least you’ve done as you were told and looked (very obedient!!)  Hope you can distinguish between useful obedience and destructive obedience - if not see your text book!!

Anyway - now you’re here….    None of the Year 13s got this, so I’ll try it on you:-

My ‘word of the week’ is “Resistance”….    can any of you work out why? - prize for the first one to tell me!!

Hello All Yr 12 Psychologists…..

Here it is - our very own spangly new blog - just for you!!

This is the place to come for extra bits and pieces to help you with your adventures in the world of Psychology - sometimes related to your course, and sometimes just for fun!

If you spot anything that would be good to post up here for everyone to enjoy, just let us know.

(PS - I’m still learning how to do this - so if you think I need some help, let me know too!!)
